Most of us remember or have some memory of the Ouiji Board. Either a story from friends or our own personal experience in experimenting with it. I remember it as being a really big thing in the 70’s. My mother had one as long as I could remember. It was intriguing that the concept of a person’s energy could guide a solid object. The teen years bring a new stage of spiritual development often piqued in interest for the occult and spiritual questioning. Does anyone else remember trying to bend a spoon with their mind? Also known as telekinesis. The Ouiji board has been around since 1890 known as the “talking board.” It was shrouded in mystery and since then usually depicted with fear and unwelcoming activities. It has been portrayed in many horror/thriller movies. Perhaps, this is even where it starts for the teenagers to get the idea to play with this. For myself as a teen, it always felt a bit dark and cool so despite my curiosity I left it alone. So here are some of my experiences and guidance I believe may be helpful. One day my mom calls and describes what is known as a “cold spot” in her home. She explains in great detail all of her experiences and discomfort with her situation. She continues saying it has been around for some time and “Something just doesn’t feel right.” It is true you just have a knowing and you just have to trust it. I gave her some tips to try in the meantime. Time passed and we both let it go. Then the Aha moment came to me where ever did that board go? So, I asked her. “Oooooh I think I have that around somewhere.” Ma, that thing has gotta go to the dumpster as soon as you can. After much groaning, because now she had to find and dig that sucker out she finally dumped it and within a couple of weeks, the house was clear again. I believe that there energetic “windows” that attract unwelcome visitors. Usually uninvited or unintentionally uninvited byways of these “windows.” It is negative energies find space in the living room. How much space they take up is unique to each situation. Yes, these are my opinions and I do believe that this board should not be played with at all. There needs to be a greater understanding of what it is you are getting into and the consequences. I do not wish to strike fear but to create awareness that this is not a toy. With Halloween approaching this motivated to write about it. My son and the occasional friend of his has asked me about it as well. There are so many ways to cultivate spiritual practices and with the internet even more information that can become overwhelming. With adolescents going through this “seeking” time in their lives we want to guide them into a positive, healthy development of spiritual living and self-acceptance. They can find this without fear, a board, and with a trusted mentor without going down the wrong path accumulating spiritual goo and undesired vibrations. While they are still so fresh with promise and great imaginations they can integrate this into developing their own unique gifts to find success within themselves and learning to trust that as well. Many kids have sat with me asking question after question about so many different aspects of spirituality. They love playing with tarot cards and soaking it all in. Believe it or not, it is not just the young ladies either the guys love it too. Loving to learn, love, and grow with guidance in a judgment-free area where no question is too out there. For everyone, the big tip is boundaries and how to protect yourself. Most responsible practitioners will teach this first and foremost. With that, I do know of others like myself who offer their services as well free to young students. We love to encourage without fear and give guidance in a healthy way so that they can find their own way on their magical path. Do not be afraid or spend any unwanted time giving negative focus just throw away and do away with whatever no longer serves you. The more focus you give something the more space you allow it in your life. Leave room for the things that really do require your loving attention. Your choice – Your well being.
And ya if you have one Ouiji Board I say to the dumpster you go!
Just my opinion of course
With love,
Amanda
